Q:  How did you hear about 1000M?

A:   (Katy Tetta): I am a huge Helmut Jahn fan and once I heard he would be the architect of 1000M, I followed the news of the building closely. I told my husband all about it and we were the first people to see the sales gallery – we ended up signing a contract the same day!

Q:  Tell us a bit about the home you purchased.

A:   We purchased an 03 residence, which is a two bedroom with a den. It’s a very exciting floor plan – it is a northeast corner that actually cantilevers out slightly so we get some western exposure, along with the northeast views and southern exposure. It’s a plan that really takes full advantage of the architecture. We love the openness of it and you just can’t beat those spectacular views. We can’t wait to see the fireworks every night during the summers!

Q:  What do you love most about 1000M?

A:   We absolutely love the South Loop location – this neighborhood has been the best kept secret in Chicago. We love the suburban feel of it with amazing parks and greenery, museums, and the proximity to the lake. Secondly, we love that Helmut Jahn is the architect. He is world class and such a huge presence in Chicago. Lastly, we love the amenities – especially the 72nd floor club lounge. My favorite amenities are the yoga and meditation rooms, and the outdoor pool – which is rare in Chicago. We love to work out, so to have a beautiful fitness center like the one in 1000M is so great.

Q:  How have you seen the neighborhood change over the years? What kind of impact do you think 1000M will bring to the neighborhood?

A:   The South Loop is definitely the place to be. We love the neighborhood. We’ve lived here since 2008 and will probably never leave. Over the past year we have seen such exciting growth in the neighborhood, with more buildings going up and the South Loop truly becoming the neighborhood we always thought it would become. The addition of 1000M to the South Loop will only bring more high-end restaurants, boutiques, stores, and more.
