CHICAGO’S 1000M TOWER IS READY TO STAND TALL

20 October 2017

“2018 sets the beginning of a new and breathtaking step in Chicago’s identity. Designed by the award-winning architect and Chicago resident Helmut Jahn, the 1000M Tower is a massive 832-foot-tall glass building that will continue to fill out and reshape the Chicago skyline, along with a handful of other tall buildings.

Located in the South Loop neighbourhood, the 1000M Tower condominium will stand 74 stories tall above Lake Michigan and Grant Park, while delivering 323 new residences. The latest look at the tower projects helps to illustrate the evolution of the building’s design and its programming. The newer curvy shape with undulating sides and building width still speaks to the new wave of structural expressionism that has swept over Chicago in recent years. Still expected to make a striking visual impact on the city’s skyline, the modified project was approved by the city in 2016.”
