Nights Out in the Parks
Throughout the year, Nights Out in the Parks brings over 2,000 events to local Chicago parks, with more than 1,200 of them taking place during the summer. From live music to farmers markets, there’s an exciting event for every neighborhood. Located right up the street from 1000M, Grant Park is the perfect spot for residents to enjoy beautiful scenery, gorgeous sculptures, and upcoming movie nights throughout the summer. For music enthusiasts, the Grant Park Music Festival is a lovely way to soak in beautiful weather and a wide array of musical performances.
Spending the Day at Northerly Island
At the heart of the museum campus, Northerly Island is a 91-acre peninsula almost completely dedicated to nature, with gorgeous views of the Chicago skyline. Northerly Island offers plenty of activities for groups, families, or solo explorers. Kayaking lessons, family fishing and taking a run on the pathways are all great ways to get outdoors.
Watching the Fireworks at Navy Pier
On Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer, Navy Pier’s fireworks light up the Chicago skyline. Whether you’re watching from Navy Pier, aboard a boat, or from the stunning views at 1000M, the fireworks are a great way to end an evening.
