Life on Lake Michigan
6 September 2018
In the heart of Chicago, 1000M is surrounded by all that makes the city great, from culture and art to bars and restaurants to the green expanse of Grant Park. Beyond our spectacular amenities, the views of Lake Michigan are unparalleled, and everything Chicago’s lakefront has to offer is only steps away.
The Lakefront Trail
An 18-mile-long stretch, Chicago’s Lakefront Trail is a paved pathway that allows bicyclists, runners and walkers to soak in the sun and water. The Trail gets crowded on weekends, but 1000M’s proximity makes it easy to get a jog in during the early hours before the crowds show up.
The Museum Campus
Home to the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium and Shedd Aquarium, the Museum Campus is home to some of Chicago’s most well-visited cultural institutions. Celestial viewings, aquatic shows and giant dinosaur skeletons are just a few of the campus attractions. Along with the nearby Art Institute of Chicago, the Campus is the perfect place to take visiting guests or to spend a weekend.
Chicago’s lakefront is lined with beaches, which means there are plenty of options to choose from when the weather heats up. 12th Street Beach, Oak Street Beach and Ohio Street Beach are all a short trip down Lake Shore Drive. If you’re craving something more private, 1000M residents can head up to the Level 11 Pool to enjoy the weather under a private cabana or with a quick yoga session at our outdoor yoga space.
Chicago’s gorgeous lakefront is one of the many unique aspects that make our city wonderful. Right on Michigan Avenue, 1000M’s close proximity to the waterfront means residents have exclusive access to all the beautiful views, seasonal activities and cultural attractions Lake Michigan has to offer. At 1000M, enjoying the lake is as simple as looking outside your window.
