With Halloween behind us and the first snow of the year officially fallen, we’re ready for those end-of-the-year seasonal festivities. To usher in the winter holidays in style, the Chicago Botanic Garden is hosting Lightscape, an enchanting and exclusive U.S. experience that you won’t want to miss.

A Suburban Destination

The Chicago Botanic Garden is just north of the city, offering reprieve from urban life in the form of 27 gorgeous gardens and four natural areas across 385 acres. Well worth the drive at any time of year, the draw is doubly strong as they host Lightscape this November-January.

Open for 45 years, this winter marks the first time ever that the Chicago Botanic Garden hosts this enchanting event, sure to become an annual staple.

Lightscape is a mile-long exhibition, full of wondrous and immersive light and sound installations. The festival features a playful choir of singing trees, immersive ribbons of light, a garden of fragrant fire, a sparkling tunnel of light and much, much more.

To keep you warm along the way, the Garden View Cafe is open with soups, grab-and-go snacks and drinks, along with another indoor food station in the Regenstein Center featuring homemade doughnuts, sliders and drinks. And the best part – a marshmallow toasting station en route during Lightscape.

Lightscape originally made its debut in London last year, delighting over a million visitors. The Chicago Botanic Garden is thrilled to bring this exclusive experience to the U.S. and offer a new way to celebrate the holiday season.

Lightscape is open Friday, November 22, until Sunday, January 5, 2020. You can plan your experience and purchase tickets here

The Chicago Botanic Garden is located at 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022. Lightscape is open from 4:30 PM – 10 PM daily.
