Sawyer’s Birthday Story

13 April 2020

Our neighbor Sawyer takes a look at his birthday sign at 1006 S Michigan

This past weekend, we helped a very special neighbor celebrate his birthday. Like many Chicago children right now, Sawyer — who celebrated his 7th birthday on Saturday — is cooped up inside during the shelter-in-place, making any sort of party or event a challenge.

Sawyer and his family live right across the street from our construction site, their terrace overlooking all the action. Noting Sawyer’s interest in all the cranes, machines and hard hats, his mom messaged us via Instagram with an idea to make his quarantined birthday special.

Our team and partners were thrilled to help with the details, from producing a 12-foot-tall banner to hang on the 1006 S. Michigan, to delivering a customized hard hat to Sawyer’s building. Sawyer’s mom even arranged for neighbors to come out onto their terraces and sing for the occasion. And because everyone could use a bit of good news right now, the event garnered the attention of local news and media, earning a spot on WGN. We were thrilled to be a part of the celebration, which reminded us that we can still catch glimpses of joy, even during this uncertain time.

Thank you to all of our partners who made this happen, including Time Equities Inc, JK Equities, Oak Capitals, McHugh Construction, @properties, Quinn PR, Vision Integrated Graphics and Otherwise Incorporated
