Thanksgiving in Chicago
19 November 2018
As November comes to a close, Chicago residents are preparing their schedules and stomachs for Thanksgiving. Balancing family, travel and food can easily cause chaos; aside from spending some time at the 1000M Spa, here’s how 1000M residents can enjoy the holiday stress-free.
Take Cooking Off Your Plate
Worried about pulling off the perfect Thanksgiving feast? If you’d rather avoid stepping foot in the kitchen this year (even though the 1000M Kitchens are gorgeous), there are plenty of restaurants in Chicago that will do the hard work for you. Within close distance to 1000M, Cherry Circle Room, Acadia and Cochon Volant are all offering exclusive Thanksgiving menus. And the best part? Not dirty dishes to clean up at the end of the day.
Have Your Pie and Eat It Too
Pre or post Thanksgiving, pie is always a good idea, and Chicago boasts some of the best pies in the country. Hoosier Mama Pie Company, Spinning J Bakery & Soda Fountain, Bang Bang Pie Shop and Sweet Mandy B’s are just a few of Chicago’s many sweet shops. We hear that pies are the perfect remedy for Thanksgiving food comas…
Watch the Festivities
Now in its 85th year, the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade is a beloved annual tradition. Starting at 8:00 am and ending at 11:00, the parade runs up State Street from Congress Parkway and heading north to Randolph Street. Kick Thanksgiving off with a bang and catch glimpses of floats, bands and performances. And for those who don’t want to leave the comforts of home, the parade airs live on WGN-TV Channel 9 and WGN America.
Celebrate in Style
There’s nothing better than celebrating the holidays in the comforts of home. 1000M residences inspire and invite, with gorgeous open living spaces that create a welcoming space for loved ones. Whether you’re wine tasting at Club 1000 or enjoying the views from our Level 72 Sky Terrace, 1000M is the perfect place to enjoy the upcoming holiday.
