The International Collection: Noteworthy News

Our International Collection has already caught the attention of news outlets throughout Chicago. Read a few of our favorite spotlights on the blog now!

The release of our International Collection, a new selection of residences that responds to a segment of buyer demand for highly efficient condominium plans, has already caught the attention of news outlets throughout Chicago. Considering their uniqueness within the Chicago market, we expect the residences will continue to make waves.

“The International Collection will open Chicago’s luxury condominium market to a pool of buyers that has been vastly underserved in the current development cycle,” said Mike Golden, president of @properties, the exclusive sales and marketing firm for 1000M. “There are a lot of buyers looking for new construction with luxury finishes, views and amenities, but they do not need a 2,000 square foot home. This is a concept that has been proven around the world and now the time has come in Chicago, and we’re excited to be on the leading edge.”

Some of our favorite spotlights so far? Curbed Chicago had the exclusive on the story, with a first look at what Chicago can expect from the new residences. Shortly afterwards, Connect Chicago and RE Journals released similar pieces focusing on the floor plans, amenities and building. Most recently, Chicago Architecture pushed an article that put the International Collection into context with luxury residences around the world. Here’s just a snippet:

“If you think that Chicago’s high rise condo buildings don’t have the allure for international buyers that buildings in Miami, London, and Dubai do, you might be wrong.

The developers of 1000M (1000 South Michigan Avenue) have designated the 133 condominiums on floors 41 through 47 the “International Collection.” They appear to be smaller units, running from 325 (!) square foot studios up to three bedroom units in a mere 825 square feet.

That may seem miniscule to you and me, but if you’re a frequent international traveler, this might be just the pied-à-terre you’re looking for when “terre” is Chicago, and your pied isn’t going to stay very long.

If you watch House Hunters International, or avail yourself of Airbnb overseas, you know that people in Europe and Asia have a different definition of “spacious” than we do. Those are the exact markets that the International Collection is after.”
